Is it race or is it the Money?
Society has all types of labels for each other, a person can be known by just their ethnicity or how wealthy they are. I believe a person's ethnicity and how much money they make is such a big deal. Ethnicity has been a very long conflict in this nation, labeling people by their race has create such a division and differences among people. People are so stuck on stereotyping each other that it creates such dispute with one another. Money will always be another big issue in the United States. It is ridiculous that one person in this world takes home 40% of the nation's money. It takes many months for an average American to make the same amount as the wealthiest guy in the world in one hour. It's not surprising that America has 54 trillion dollars on the 2009 but yet, the percentage rate of homeless people increases every year. I believe that it is both race and money that has caused such big dispute and division in this nation.

The Underdog by The Coup
In the piece Underdog by Coup, he openly speaks his mind about his Folkers and their struggles and hardships they encounter on a daily bases. An Underdog is a group or person that has such little chances of fighting or winning. The "Underdogs" Boots was referring to are the middle/lower class people who barely have a say or fight in this society. The "They" are the rich and ones with power which is the government. I believe the part that had great significance to me was "Coming home don't never seem to be a celebration, Bills, they poled up on the coffee table like they're decorations, Big ol' spoons of peanut butter, big ass glass of water, Makes the hunger subside, save the real food for your daughter." Even though a person works many days with long hours throughout the week, sometimes it's not enough. On their days off, instead of relaxing and catching up on getting rest they're stressing over how are they going to pay rent or how are they going to provide for their families.
"You feel like swingin' haymakers at a moving truck, You feel like laughing so seem like like you don"t give a fuck, You feel like getting so high, you smoke a whole damn crop, You feel like crying but you think that you might never stop" It's sad to be in a situation where you've reach your breaking point in life, especially for those who do not days off and it's still difficult for them to get buy. This is significant to me because United States does not try to decrease the percentage of homeless people or families on the street but yet, they try to sell this idea on television to send money to this organization to help end hunger and poverty in different countries or animal abuse. It's ridiculous because we have young girls selling their bodies and young boys selling dope on the streets just to get by, where is the government? Where is this power that they use to intimidate the people below them? If the government has so much power, why are issues that started years ago keep getting worse as the years go by?
